City Hall area

Many famous cultural sights can be found in the Town Hall area. The Myongdong neighborhood is famous for being crowded with various shops and department stores. Japanese and other foreigners will find shopping centers and the Lotte department store in Myongdong very accessible, and there are also many hotels and restaurants there. The night view one can expect to see from Seoul Tower, one of the symbols of Seoul, is one of the most beautiful in Korea. In addition, there is Insadong, an area deeply rooted in Korean traditional culture and widely known by tourists.

Gangnam area

In addition to the already existing Trade Center, Airport Terminal and ASEM Center in the area of Teheranno, new startup companies are being established that will help to develop emerging industries. Fashion, the arts, and movies and animation have flourished in Apgujeong-dong and Cheongdam-dong, while the Samseong-Dong and Nonhyeon-dong areas specialize in art galleries, ceramics, and the furniture industry.
As of late, the Poi-dong area has seen a sudden rise in startup companies building housing complexes, and the entire region is seeing consistent and diverse development. The vast majority of residents live in large apartment complexes and premium villas, supported nicely by nearby department stores, cultural facilities and parks, thus creating an ideal and convenient location for residents.

Ichon area

The Ichon area is known to possess many natural places for inhabitants to enjoy and relax, such as Hyochang Park, Yongsan Family Park, the War Memorial of Korea and Hangang Citizen's Park. Many Japanese citizens gathered together to form a Japan Town, where there are many schools for foreigners, Japanese restaurants Japanese banks and other establishments that are easily accessible to Japanese people. There are foreign embassies, cultural centers, the Itaewon sightseeing district, and compared to other regions, there are a particularly high amount of foreign residents in this area. Recently, Yongsan has actively pursued urban development, and hereafter it is expected to change dramatically into one of Seoul’s economic, cultural and administrative centers.

Mapo area・Yeouido area

Yeouido is the center of Korean government and economics and home to the National Assembly Building and the political parties of Korea as well as virtually all major financial institutions including the Korean Exchange and the Federation of Korean Industries. The main broadcasting offices for KBS and MBC are also located there. The Yunjungno Cherry Blossom Festival is held every April after the flowers begin to bloom. On a Saturday in November, there is a world-class firework show held in the Hangang Citizen's Park. This year it will be on October 4, and some 1,000,000 people are expected to attend, putting it at the forefront of Asia’s largest firework displays.

Bundang area

Bundang was the first area developed as part of the government’s New Town Project in 1989, and it was created as an environmental and ecology-friendly city. It is only about 20 km away from City Hall and, it is easily accessible. Unlike the rest of Seoul, there are many parks and European-style cafes, and schools for foreigners and new shopping centers have been established. There are also many high-end residential areas and apartment complexes, making this a popular area with Korean people as well. Recently, NAVER and SK, the biggest Korean start-ups, relocated their headquarters to Bundang.
