Yeouido is the center of Korean government and economics and home to the National Assembly Building and the political parties of Korea as well as virtually all major financial institutions including the Korean Exchange and the Federation of Korean Industries. The main broadcasting offices for KBS and MBC are also located there. The Yunjungno Cherry Blossom Festival is held every April after the flowers begin to bloom. On a Saturday in November, there is a world-class firework show held in the Hangang Citizen's Park. This year it will be on October 4, and some 1,000,000 people are expected to attend, putting it at the forefront of Asia's largest firework displays.
