Bundang was the first area developed as part of the government's New Town Project in 1989, and it was created as an environmental and ecology-friendly city. It is only about 20 km away from City Hall, and it is easily accessible. Unlike the rest of Seoul, there are many parks and European-style cafes, and schools for foreigners and new shopping centers have been established. There are also many high-end residential areas and apartment complexes, making this a popular area with Korean people as well. Recently, NAVER and SK, the biggest Korean start-ups, relocated their headquarters to Bundang.
